Hedgecutter Puymeras, John Kingsley, PAI
My brother who is an artist had the wine opening of his latest one-man exhibition in the Duncan Miller Fine Art gallery in St James, London, last night. John Kingsley is a full-time painter, a Scottish Colourist who brings to life the shimmering heat of the South of France with all it's fragrance and peacefulness. Slightly impressionistic they exude the magical atmosphere that we go in search of on summer holidays. By the number of red stickers denoting 'Sold' there were plenty of people thinking the same thing.
So the wine flowed and it was a chance to meet some people we hadn't seen for quite a while. With over forty paintings in their two rooms there was plenty to look at and space to mingle. It was good to see him again although we'd had the chance the previous evening to have him round for dinner. As he lives and paints in Glasgow, Scotland we only get the chance to connect a few times a year. I'm really pleased to see my brother gaining such success and recognition. He does great work and his reputation is spreading with his paintings in various collections around the world, including HRH Duke of Edinburgh.
Good on you John.
