33 Second Technique

HandStopWatch_copy.jpgI've been using the 33 Second technique again. Have you tried it? The important thing is that although it only takes 33 seconds, you need to repeat it every day for a while. But it can change your life. It's got more power than any of us probably realise, can communicate worldwide in an instant, can lift your mood, change your fortune, bring opportunities your way, and it costs absolutely nothing. Intrigued?

Well you've got it already and have had all your life. And if you're already using it in this particular way, good for you. But most of us don't give ourselves the time to use this huge resource. Clearly, I'm talking about your thoughts and the power of your brain. As What you think is what you get, and 'Thoughts become Things', in Mike Dooley's words.

Giving ourselves time to visualise what we want can be difficult. We give enormous amounts of our own time to work, our family, friends, chores and daily tasks, but how much do we give to ourselves? But thinking takes no time at all. Indeed we're thinking most of the time, and whatever is in our thoughts or emotions is what we are energising. So it's good to keep positive.

However, giving a little time to really consider what you really want can help the object of your desires to hurry along. Get it in your mind, think it clearly and stave off any negativity and sure enough your greatest dream may be barrelling down on you like a 10 ton truck. But be warned, if you're prone to worrying, then those concerns will also be hurrying towards you. So choose your thoughts wisely.

If you're short of time and never get around to visualising, then the 33 Second Technique may appeal. it's super powerful and I've been using it myself to real benefit.

33 Second Technique
Stop what you're doing and just give yourself a few moments to think of what you want. Give yourself exactly 33 Seconds. Set your mobile phone timer to 33 seconds and as you click 'Start', think of what you want as clearly as you can. Sense having it, being there, enjoying the experience. Feel the emotion and enjoyment you will have in that situation. Evoke how happy you would be and mentally put yourself in that situation. See it, smell it, touch it, taste it and make it real. When the timer rings, stop and get on with your day. That's it. No kidding. That's all there is to it. 33 Seconds.

If you've got two or three things in mind, i.e. a new house, job, the car, a relationship, contentment, whatever, create a little checklist and give each one exactly 33 seconds by repeating the timer process.

Do this daily. Now don't tell me you haven't got 33 seconds to spare. If you've got a dream in your heart, then it's worth it.

Avoid putting a time limit on your expectations. Don't expect it to come today or tomorrow. Keep it up for a month, two months or more. But keep it up and just see what comes your way.
