Wednesday 11th July 2007 is NATIONAL SIESTA DAY
Do you ever feel a lull in energy levels after lunch? Do you sometimes wish you could just have a little siesta to refresh you?
Having a nap has not yet been adopted in Britain and is often considered a sign of weakness, but the 10-20 minute power Nap offers very real benefits to health, productivity and well-being.
I set up Britain's first National Siesta Day last year to help encourage the practice of napping in this country and this year it's on Wednesday 11th July. Consequently it looks like being a busy day for me as I have 30 live radio broadcasts scheduled through the morning starting with Radio 5 Live at 6.50am and finishing with a TV interview on BBC World at 12.30pm with George Alagiah (broadcast outside the UK). I shall certainly need a nap after that! Then there may be a few more in the afternoon.
Listen to this podcast and I'll tell you more about the benefits of napping.....
Have a nap. Do it today.
