Improve your productivity by 30%

Do you want to improve your productivity by over 30% in the afternoon?
Do you want to improve your alertness by up to 100% after lunch?
Do you want to reduce the risk of heart disease by 34%?

I talked to Joel Hills on Sky News on National Siesta Day in July about the benefits of having a daily nap.

In the City it's said that if you even take a lunch break you're considered a wimp and a snooze is for real Woosers! Well it can take generations for attitudes and working conditions to change for the better. Maybe all those wishing to make big bucks fast but deny themselves the most natural energy booster, don't realise that they will possibly do even better in the afternoons trading with improved alertness and productivity. If it works for NASA it works for the rest of us too.

Naturally the suggestion is not that we should all be having naps, but if we feel the need (as many of us do) then we should be free to do so in our own time without criticism. It's time to wake up and it's the reason why the National Siesta Day campaign is important, although a lot of fun at the time!

I'm self-employed and believe a midday snooze provides relief from stressful work and enhances overall productivity. After a pleasant and relaxing sleep people can return to work with less chance of developing chronic stress, which has been implicated in heart disease.

Well put, Jeff. Thanks for your comment! I couldn't agree more. Noel
